Crown Fine Art India is excited to have been the official transportation partner for the Museum of the Moon’s month-long tour across India in February 2018. The seven-metre-wide illuminated replica of the moon is the work of British artist Luke Jerram. The project, which was supported by the British Council, marked the last phase of the UK/India Year of Culture.

Commenting on his work with the British Council, Luke Jerram said, "We are thrilled to be in India and would love to observe and contemplate cultural similarities and differences while simultaneously also considering the latest moon science in the country. The India visit of the Museum is not only an opportunity for the public to have a close experience with the moon, but also for us to get a deeper understanding of the moon’s cultural significance in the country.”

The Museum of the Moon traveled across major cities with exhibitions held in National Gallery of Modern Art, Bangalore; Gateway of India, Mumbai; City Palace, Udaipur; Victoria Memorial, Kolkata and the British Council headquarters, Delhi. The Moon is seven metres (23ft) in diameter and weighs 140kg in total (100kg of air plus the 40kg balloon). It features detailed imagery of the surface of the moon and looked stunning at night.

This was a unique project with strict pick-up and delivery deadlines to meet at every location. Our operations team and crew members worked like a well-oiled machine to ensure smooth logistics to our client.
At the end of the exhibition, our team was elated to receive a positive feedback from Programme Director, UK/India 2017, Jennifer Crook. She said: “We were very impressed with the service provided by Crown - the drivers were prompt, looked after our shipment well and always delivered on time.”
