For museums and galleries alike, it is becoming increasingly important they they are choosing suppliers who are doing everything they can to minimise their carbon footprint.
As part of this, Crown Fine Art's Paul Beatson has now completed over 4,000 miles on his bicycle as part of site visits.
By cycling instead of driving, Paul has saved around 750kg of C02e, which for comparison, is equivalent to the carbon sequestered by 12 tree seedlings grown for 10 years.
Paul said: "The furthest I've had to cycle is a 45-mile round trip, to a client's house in the country and back to the train station."
"What you don't burn in carbon is just as important as what you save or offset. It could probably be even more important, so I gave up my car in spring this year and am now only doing this. It's also very sociable, and you get lots of work done on the journey."
A fantastic job to Paul for all his hard work!
