The Crown Worldwide UK& Leadership Team are delighted that their commitments and achievements in sustainable business practices have been awarded a gold EcoVadis sustainability rating in their recent assessment by the leading business sustainability monitoring service.
The progressive achievements achieved by Crown Records Management, Crown Fine Art, and Crown Workspace have been captured in the extensive and thorough submission registered under the Crown Workspace brand.
Achieving an overall rating of 68%, Crown were in the top 2% of companies rated by EcoVadis in the ‘freight transport by road industry’, the most closely aligned category for the leading sustainable workplace change services provider.
The EcoVadis assessment benchmarks a company’s sustainability performance in terms of policy, action, and results against four key themes. Crown achieved a rating of 70% in environment, labour and human rights, and ethics, putting it in the top 5% of companies rated in their industry for each of these themes.
This high environmental rating reflects the progress made in setting and delivering against our Scope 1 and 2 net-zero targets and the circular workplace services with a core focus on maximising reuse.
Our extensive employee programmes, including training, healthcare, and career plans for all, as well as robust policies and procedures, led to our high labour and human rights score.
Crown were required to complete an extensive questionnaire and submit supporting documentation as evidence, with further information collected from public sources by EcoVadis whose experts then analysed all the information before assigning the scorecard.
Crown were shown to have demonstrated an advanced management system for environmental, labour, human rights, and ethics issues. We received a ‘moderate’ rating of 50% in sustainable procurement, which still saw us in the top 13% of companies rated in their industry category.
“We are very pleased to have scored so highly across the board in our first EcoVadis rating. Crown have a clear responsible business plan and commitment to managing our social and environmental impacts, we are proud to perform so well at this stage in our sustainability journey.”
Stephen Hardie, Regional Managing Director & Regional Finance Director, UKI & Northern Europe
